In Thomas Sowell’s book Applied Economics he makes the point that we should always ask the question, “and then what?” four times. When we are mad at someone and want to responded with a hurtful or rude comment, ask, “and then what?” Three or four times. Usually the answer will be negative or non consequential, Now ask something suggested in your article and and see the positive “and then what”

"A soft answer turneth away wrath." Proverbs used to be a very popular source of wisdom, and for good reason. Giving ourselves a chance to stop and think seems to be a lost art in our current state of affairs. Thank you for the reminder!
