My grandma had a Hoya vine that would not produce flowers, to her great disappointment. Then one year she’d had it, “If you do not flower this very year, I am pulling you out.” She declared.
Time passed and I went to visit. I stepped into her porch and sniffed. It was such a lovely smell. Her hoya was not only in bloom, but the most fragrant and delightful blooms, too. That is the year I learned flowers do talk.
