I joined the Church on March 26, 1971. Since that time, I have been privileged to represent the United States in 18 other nations, and have seen how the church operates in those countries. So many, many times, I have thanked Father for being a part of this, able to make my small contribution to His work. This article points out a lot of things that exist in this world that are a beacon to all the people on Earth. Thank you for writing it.

Sometimes I feel like Groucho Marx: "I wouldn't want to belong to any organization that would have me as a member." But The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does accept me as a member and I am grateful for it.

I found this article to be very enlightening. It enveloped the essence of how the gospel is making a huge difference for people all around the world. Then came the paragraph about the people in this organization being some of the happiest. Next came a comment about the happiness of the crazy. Well this comment just ruined this article for me. To relay so much positive information and then end with a less than sensitive response concerning those who deal with mental illness bothered me.

With so much emphasis on "HOW" the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints came to be, I have often wondered why there isn't more focus on the marvel of what it IS, and how well it fills the spiritual and temporal needs of so many, answers virtually every political and economic question, and speaks to the heart and soul so poignantly, thousands "join up" all over the world annually.

When one reads all that the church is and does it is truly amazing. This is Christ's church in action.
