The problem is Godlessness , no fear of repercussion beyond earthly punishment, and desire for notoriety. Media has become a contagion that influences these outbursts. Search media contagion mass shooting

Benjamin Franklin — 'Serving God is doing good to man, but praying is thought an easier service and therefore more generally chosen.' But this polarized blaming of each other from both sides does nothing but throw gas on the fire and play into the hands of those intent on stirring up contention and profit during the chaos.

Peggy and Rodney, I agree with the gist of your statements, but the mistakes made poor to the man walking into the church and open-firing into the crowd had nothing to do with the NRA and honest gun ownership. My understanding of the events that preceded Sunday dealt with the Air Force not reporting his dis-honorable discharge and his escape from a mental hospital. Where were his parents? His in-laws? who should have reported his moods and actions to the LEO's. He didn't own these guns so how would a law requiring more registration work in keeping guns from this nut-case? The argument for more gun control would hurt the honest not the crooks; they never register their guns or to make sure the gun isn't altered. The real culprit in these cases lie within the judges and the bench. Not more laws but better enforcement. The citizen who shot him was a legal gun-ower, licensed, cool, collected and was johnny-on-the-spot. Minutes before the LEO's showed up.

Rodney Ross hit the nail on the head. The author of this article completely misses the point of the complaints. God expects more than condolences and prayers. He expects us to act on our words. So far, even mass killings of children have not brought about any action. In fact, while the GOP refers to mass murderers as mentally ill, they actually repealed a control meant to prevent those with strong mental health problems from buying guns.

Prayer is not what the people on the left are complaining about. After we pray, we are supposed to put our prayers into action. That’s a basic part of faith. The Republicans have done nothing. Although some of the comments are much too caustic, those on the left have a point on this issue. Unfortunately, most Republicans are bought and sold by the NRA. Please note I am a gun owner and am not a Democrat.
