As I read the scholarship on Joseph's revelatory practices it suggests that these scriptures were inspired by Jesus--but that Joseph chose the words to express the impressions and direction he was given. He did not sit down with a yellow pad and just write exact wordings given to him. These scriptures were not "dictated" to him word for word.
