F. Richard and Laura Leavitt Hauck served a mission in Uyo, Nigeria. They spent much of their married life in Bountiful, Utah but now live in Farmington. They are the parents of seven children and eighteen grandchildren. Laura, who is a former English teacher and an accomplished musician, has served in a variety of Church positions, including Relief Society President, Stake Relief Society and Young Women Presidencies. Dr. Hauck, an archeologist, has conducted years of research on Book of Mormon archeology in Mesoamerica, and has published his findings in various formats, including Meridian Magazine. His PhD dissertation documented the ancient trails and trade routes of the Maya in MesoAmerica. He is currently working as the lead archaeologist under the sponsorship of The Khor Kharfot Foundation in Southwestern Oman.
