Duane L. Ostler is a graduate of the BYU law school in 1992. He also obtained a PhD in legal history from Macquarie University in 2012. He has worked for a number of legal firms in Utah since the 1990s. He is married to the former Kym Fielding from Australia, and they are the parents of five children.
