SACRAMENTO, California — More than 121,000 visitors have toured the new Sacramento California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tours are free. However, tickets are required and there are only five days left before the temple is closed to the general public.
Tours are offered daily (except Sunday) through August 26, 2006. Free tickets can be obtained at www.lds.org or by calling 800/537-6214.
Tours begin with an 11-minute introduction video. The walking tour through the temple takes approximately 25 minutes, and guests are then ushered back into the large hosting center next door for refreshments.
Please note that because Latter-day Saints consider temples sacred, cameras and other recording equipment are not be allowed inside. Visitors who want photographs can find them at the Church’s official newsroom, www.newsroom.lds.org.
The temple address is 2100 California Circle, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. For driving directions from major cities and a map to the Sacramento California Temple, please visit www.lds.org/temples.
Tours began running on Saturday, 29 July 2006. Once the tours end, the temple will be closed to all except for members of the LDS Church who hold “temple recommends” saying they are worthy to attend the temple.
