A large percentage of Meridian readers who voted in a recent poll are gloomy about the economic future for their children.
The results are in from the Meridian readers who voted on the poll question about whether their children would be worse or better off economically than they have been. The answers were lopsided with 75.7% believing that their children will be much worse or somewhat worse off economically than they have been.
That broke down to 43.5% saying their children would be much worse off and another 32.2% saying their children would be somewhat worse off.
Only 5.6% voted that their children will be much better off economically and 8.2% that their children will be somewhat better off economically.
